Appropriate evaluation and management of patients with cataract and other lens abnormalities will be discussed. The principles of cataract surgery techniques and surgical technology will be described. Management of intra-operative and post-operative complications of cataract surgery will be described. Preoperative evaluation to determine whether a patient is appropriate for refractive surgery will be described. An overview of various refractive surgery modalities will be given, including: incisional (RK), photoablative (LASIK & PRK), phakic IOLs and various corneal inlays. Management of complications will be discussed.
