Immunologic and infectious mechanisms involved in the occurrence and complications of uveitis will be described. Specific pathophysiological processes in acute and chronic intraocular inflammation will be discussed. Examination techniques and relevant ancillary studies that lead to appropriate differential diagnosis for ocular inflammatory disorders will be described. Medical and surgical management of uveitis and related intraocular inflammation, including indications for and complications of immunosuppressive agents will be discussed.
